Know About the Maestro

The Magic-
Maker Behind the Story

Dixie Lou Hall is more than a writer—she is an imaginative powerhouse who transforms everyday moments into enchanting escapades for young hearts. Born and raised in the rolling hills of a quiet Southern town, Dixie grew up chasing fireflies, splashing in creeks, and weaving stories beneath the shade of ancient oaks. With a background in early childhood education, she channels her passion into books that celebrate curiosity, kindness, and the thrill of discovery.

When she is not crafting children’s stories, Dixie can be found sketching by the window with a mug of hot cocoa, volunteering at local story hours, or leading nature walks for eager young explorers. Her debut book, Freddie’s First Winter, draws directly from these real-life inspirations: the serene beauty of the first snowfall, the excitement of new friendships, and the simple joy of embarking on an adventure.

Why does she do it? “Every child deserves a tale that makes their world a little bigger and a lot brighter,” Dixie says with her characteristic sparkle.

About the Book

The Ghost at Bunny Hollow is a gentle and charming children’s story set in the peaceful forest of Bunny Hollow, where sunny mornings, singing birds, and cozy rabbit homes make life feel safe and familiar. But when vegetables begin disappearing from Mrs. Hopwell’s garden, whispers of a mysterious ghost start to spread, especially from her mischievous little bunny, Bobby.

As the mystery unfolds, young readers are invited to follow Mr. Blue Jay and the curious Mr. Flufftail on a nighttime adventure to uncover the truth behind the missing cabbage and carrot pies. What they discover is not a spooky ghost at all, but an important lesson about honesty, responsibility, and the difference between imagination and truth.

With lovable animal characters, playful dialogue, and a comforting resolution, The Ghost at Bunny Hollow teaches children that it is okay to be imaginative, but it is even more important to be truthful and kind. The story reassures young readers that mistakes are part of growing up and that love, guidance, and understanding help us learn from them.

Perfect for bedtime reading and early readers, this heartwarming tale blends mystery, humor, and meaningful life lessons in a way that feels light, reassuring, and memorable, making Bunny Hollow a place children will want to visit again and again.
